The Clark family, known as the Clark Bears, sold the beloved tourist attraction to Florida-based Patriot Railroad LLC last year.
Patriot Rail operates more than 30 regional short-service freight railroads and two scenic rail excursion trains, including the Blue Ridge Scenic Railroad in Blue Ridge, Georgia. The auction features Winnipesaukee Scenic Railroad and Granite State Railroad bicycles.
As for Hobo Rail, a company spokesman said the company is in the “early to mid-stages of a rebrand” and is preparing to unveil a “new look for the railroad” later this spring.

Edward “Eddie” and Brenda Clark opened the Hobo Railroad in 1987 with one locomotive and two cars. Since then, the family has worked to keep more than 50 miles of tracks open over the years, especially after the local paper mill closed.

The time for donut love has arrived. Less than two months after the grand opening in Newmarket, all three locations have closed. Other locations are in Exeter and North Hampton.
Former Strathair police officer Michael Oliveira opened Donut Love in 2017 and sold it last year to Goodwin Family Management, which operates the Friends Toast brand.
“Although briefly, we are proud of our tenure as owners of Donut Love. We’ve invested heavily in creating a top-notch workspace for our teammates and delicious baked goods for our guests. We’re trying our best to make sure we try our best to spread the donut love, but we’re sad that things didn’t go as planned. Going forward, we will refocus our efforts on other brands,” said Eric Goodwin and Tyler Goodwin.
